Is this good Muscle gain in 4 months for a 16 yr old?

I have been working hard and have been eating right. I have gained 4lb of muscle and lost 2% fat in 4 months. I am a sophmore, I hope by my senor year to be alot stronger/toned/lean, not husky and big. Any advice on Supplements for my age?
Answer:
That's not bad. They key is making gains and it seems you are. Have you noticed strength gains as well?Typically, you'll see the most gains in the first 6-8 months of training. One thing you should be looking closely at is nutrition. If you're lifting pretty intensily, you need to make sure you're getting enough quality macronutrients (protein, carbs, good fats). A rough rule of thumb is 40/40/20 of each, getting at least 1 gram of protein and carbs per pound of bodyweight per day minimum, taking 5-6 meals per day. Make sure these are healthy. This is where supplements are really convenient, such as a good quality whey protein powder. Skip the weight gainer.Focus on the core lifts (squats, bench press, deadlifts), doing 4-8 reps 2-3 sets each with intensity. Make sure you work perfecting your form first before adding a lot of weight. As you advance, experiment with adding weight and using different variations, such as sumo deadlifts or incline bench. These are called compound movements because they utilize multiple muscle groups. Only do other exercises to supplement your routine, but keep them limited.Be sure you give your body plenty of rest and recovery time. Avoid working the same muscle groups less than three days apart from each other as this leads to overtraining and doesn't allow your muscles a chance to recover. Get lots of sleep.Just keep focused, work out with someone experienced (classmates or other teens don't qualify as experienced) and have them show you how to do the lifts properly and safely. Make sure you have a spotter when you finally do start going heavy. Making short and long term goals really helps. With patience and determination you'll get there.
am a 17yr. 1st year collage student and i work out in the gym the same way as you do but am UN sure about my status, but may i suggest proper nutrition of the food pyramid is the answer for you it complete with nutrients and add vitamins to your body if you want..try it but just keep remembering work out hard...
Protein builds muscle so you can get it either from high quality foods or through protein supplements (whey). If you're after the toned/lean look you want to use a high-repetition workout. I suggest you look up muscleandfitness.com for some ideas. But I'll tell you from experience supplements are just that a supplement not a replacement. A good diet is crucial to any gains you might make. Hope it helps! G.
