I've heard conflicting opinions on how much water a person should take in everyday. Most say that 6-8 glasses a day is good. I've also read that unless you're involved in regular, strenuous activity that 6-8 glasses of water is too much and can dilute your blood and also damage your kidneys.
Answer:
I'm in college and taking a wellness class. There was a story in the news/radio about a girl who died from drinking too much water as a dare and we discussed it in class. My instructor said that technically you can have too much water but it depends on how active you are. She said if you drink too much water it will dilute your blood. The girl who died did two things wrong. The dare was to see who could drink the most water and not go to the bathroom. So she drank all that water and never got rid of any of it. Then she didn't have any sodium when she was drinking all that water. I don't know how it works but my instructor said if you drink a lot of water and you're not exercising, then you need to eat something with sodium in it because it will keep your blood from diluting/thinning. I think that's the only way you can have too much water. Most people who drink a ton of water exercise daily or are active enough that the water evaporates sooner or later.
The more, the better. I can drink up to 3 1/2 litres in a day! It's good for your whole body.
the more the water the better i love water and drink tons of it everyday and nothing has happened to me i probably drink 8 bottled waters a day so if it did something to my kidneys i would know by now!!!
Eight, eight ounce glasses of water a day is perfectly safe whether you exercise or not. You'd literally have to drink gallons in a day to dilute the sodium content of your blood enough to throw off your electrolyte balance and cause harm.
Yes, It Is Possible. There Was A Lady Who Was Rinning And She Collapsed From Drinking Too Much Water. However, Water Is Good For Your Body If You Are Drinking Enough But Not Too Little Or Too Much.
Water can only EVER be bad for you if you drink too much in a short period of time. Like a gallon in 5 minutes. Otherwise, the more water, the better.
The answer is clearly YES. If you take in too much water you will dilute the electrolytes in your system enough to cause heart arrhythmia or other problems.6-8 glasses of water will not harm you at all - I'm talking about a LOT of water. 6-8 glasses is probably more than you actually NEED, but it will not hurt your kidney function at all.
drinkin to much water may not be good for you..it can drown ur inner body parts and kill you....didn't you hear about this story in vancouver, canada that this girl was involved in a water drinkin contest and dead from drinking to much?
You can never drink to much water.
Too much water DOES harm you, it's called water intoxication. However it usually doesn't happen unless you drink a gallon of water a day.
